Some Added Specials for Thursday--Some of My Poetry

Onion, Mirror, Me
Jw Walcher 5/13/15

Peel the layer away
I am
An onion needing
To free the existence of my true essence
Layer by layer
Prayer by prayer
Looking into my reflection
What is there to see
Me, unmasked
Naked without the trappings
Of a hidden identity
The fig leaves hide the skin
I am in
But the layers peeled away
Expose my frayed edges
Peel away the layers
To find the me
In the onion
And look into the mirror
To find the me
Looking back.

Self Rule of Thumb
(Discovery Core)
Jw Walcher 5/13/15

We live in our imaginations as people we want to be..escaping ourselves..for a different reality.
We search for freedom
When we are already free.

I am my self reflection
Ahead of shadows in the bend
Crossing through introspection
Returning from within
A warrior on the road
Headed toward eternity
Trying to free myself
When I am already free

I am the river flowing
The air I breathe
The source of all reflection
In the mirror that is me
You are the path
The garden and planted seed
Needing a refuge of freedom
From your view of negativity
You need not be a slave
When you are already free.

Bird

(for Charlie Yardbird Parker- Birdman)
Jw Walcher 5/13/15

He hung out in his own pad
Surrounded by jazz and beebop breaths
His own nest a haven for the blues
His saxophone vocal chords
Used to spread the news
Music lives into a world of a
a different consciousness stream
And bird is flying in our dreams
The sweet night air is heavy filled
With the low moaning of a sad saxophone
The fingers find the rhythm
Of the night
And birdman is winging
Through the musical flight
Birdman music
Bringing us home
Beebop blood and dizzy venues
Our world is defined by colors and hues
And turning inside out we find our
Own groove
With birdman
On the move
He hung out in his own pad
Surrounded by jazz and beebop breaths
His own nest a haven for the blues
His saxophone vocal chords
Used to spread the news
Music lives into a world of a
a different consciousness stream
And bird is flying in our dreams
